All too often these days, we hear countless times the Allies triumphs of both World Wars being dismissed or apologies sought. History tells us that if this period in time had not had the brave volunteers offering their services to fight the Germans in the BoB, then we would almost certainly be looking at a different situation now, whereby all our freedoms take so many take for granted would not have been possible.
We should be proud of our history, thankful of their sacrifices and grateful that so many answered the calling without too much grumbling.
These men and women are owed so much, their stories must be kept alive and the history that they made should be celebrated each and every year. Thank you to all of them. RIP to the ‘few’!
