It makes me proud to be part of the wider RAF family. My dear father, now passed away, was a spitfire pilot and spent time in US training other pilots.
The men and women involved in the Battle of Britain were all heroes, whatever their role or rank. God bless them all. Sadly I wonder if it was all in vain when we see the state of this country now, but at the time they fought hard to give us the freedom we have got.
