I remember as a 6 year old the sound of spitfires battleing it out with ME 109’s over the skies of sussex. I was too young to appreciate the seriousness of it all but found it thrilling nonetheless.My father was in the Royal Observer Corps at the time so much of it has rubbed off on me and my gratitude to those brave pilots is unbounded. The RAF is in my blood and always will be.
