Today, we remember with deep gratitude the heroes of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth who stood firm during the Battle of Britain. In the summer and autumn of 1940, when the skies above Britain became the front line, brave young men and women—pilots, ground crews, and countless others—answered the call with courage beyond measure.
They came not only from Britain, but from across the Commonwealth and allied nations, united in the defence of freedom against tyranny. Their determination, sacrifice, and unbreakable spirit turned the tide in one of history’s darkest hours, ensuring that future generations could live in liberty.
To those who gave their all, and to those who bore the weight of fear and loss at home, we owe a debt that can never truly be repaid. We honour their memory, we cherish their legacy, and we pledge never to forget the price they paid for our tomorrow.
Lest we forget.
