I joined the RAF 65 years ago as a young 15 year old boy when the Battle of Britain was still fresh on everyone’s lips. Sadly that is no longer the case, and most people even of my own age group even know of it or remember it. I remind everyone that can and fly the RAF flag every September 15th over my front garden. This year it is going to remain there in perpetuity as a mark of thanks to ALL RAF personnel who took part in that conflict for the rest of my life, replacing it as and when needed.
